03 Mar Swisskisafari love – what they say about us in the press
It is always lovely to have an observer watching you do your job, and even better when they talk about it positively in the press. This is especially true when your job is rather hard to explain. Check out an article in this month’s Robb Report which describes what we do rather well. We are thrilled with the Swisskisafari love – what they say about us in the press.
A three-foot world
Have you ever had a feeling that you live in a three-foot world? That you forget everything else when you’re in ‘the zone’? Our job feels like that. Trip planning and guiding takes you out of the real world for a moment. It is so engrossing and time consuming that you have no time to think of anything else. All you know is what your next move is and which upcoming problem to anticipate due to weather, road closures or needing to move to plan B, C or D.
What they say about us in the press
Seeing what they say about us in the press has given me perspective. Reading about your work in print gives people the chance to have more idea of what you do from day to day and observe what path your skills and experience have led you down. This is especially rewarding when, as with every job, there are moments where you feel like the work you do is invisible. Moments like this are a reminder that sometimes you just need to stop and enjoy a little acknowledgment.
What they said about us in the press and climate change
Climate change seems to be the hot topic of conversation these days. So maybe it is a good time to share what we are observing in the field. We do notice the climate changing but we experience it differently from most. We are not noticing less snow. Perhaps this is because we are constantly moving between three countries. Because of this we see a different climate in each place simultaneously. We have certainly noticed more extreme snow falls, or rather extreme levels of snowfall in one place and almost no snow just across the border. Add to this the wind in one area but not in another, which can really affect the quality of our skiing. This is the reason we like to ski between multiple countries at a time. It allows us to work around the weather and find good skiing and snowboarding in many places along the way.
If you, like us, like to be adventurous and explore new areas all on one trip, a ski safari with Swisskisafari might be for you. Get together with a group of good friends who have the same mindset, same ski level and a taste for luxury, good food and wine and you are starting to have the elements necessary for a great ski safari. Give us a call and we will design the perfect getaway in the mountains between France, Italy and Switzerland for you.
Best regards from the mountains,
Danielle
