Why a Ski Safari?

Why “ski safari”?

Why did we base our company on ski safaris?

Ski safaris are at our core. They are in our name and are what we do. Sitting on the border of Switzerland, Italy and France, we have easy access to three countries, so why not ski them all? Because these countries touch, skiing from one to another is an easy pleasure and a lot of fun.

So what is a ski Safari with Swisskisafari?

A ski safari is a multi-day, private guided ski trip which includes skiing across borders to include more than one country. Experience different cultures, different food and hugely varied skiing over more than one country in one trip. Your ski safari can be as adventurous as you like. Mix up skiing on groomed runs with off piste and wild, normally inaccessible mountainside. Choose private chalets, luxury hotels or rugged mountain refuges. Combine famous ski resorts with small local resorts, to get the best of everything.

Why private?

Weather patterns vary and change at short notice across the Alps, and we want to ensure you get the best snow conditions on each day. A private trip allows you to change plans at short notice as each day’s itinerary is flexible. This means you ski the best snow possible for the ultimate ski experience each day.

Crowdless mountains

Our aim is to get you away from the crowds and a ski safari gives us the flexibility to do that. We always stay more than one night in one place so that you can get a real feel for the ambience and the local villages, sample the local nightlife and taste local specialities. We want you to experience the best of the best before moving on.

All the experience without rushing

It’s amazing how much you can experience in a short amount of time on a ski safari. We believe that one week is ideal for visiting two or three countries without feeling rushed. We want to make sure you have had just enough time to really experience each country. Because of the proximity of the three countries we may use one as a base for skiing in a bordering country too.

Still surprised

It’s always a surprise to our guests how different each country is how different the skiing is. The food, the wine, the culture and the scenery: after running ski safaris for 19 years we never tire of skiing across borders and embracing the differences of these amazing European Ski areas.

If you’re feeling really adventurous, we can take you on a completely different tack after your trip. Why not spend your last ski safari day relaxing in a spa on a lake to wind down? If you’re looking for a new experience for your skiing holiday, Swisskisafari is the perfect way to really get off the beaten track away from the crowds and discover the highest mountains in Europe on a ski safari.

Warm regards from the mountains
