Luxury Heli-Hiking Safari

The cherry on top

We never offer a trip that is solely heli-hiking — and there’s a good reason for that. In this region, dedicated helicopter landing zones are limited, which means the helicopter works best as a brilliant bonus to an already outstanding hiking week. Think of it as the cherry on top: a way to access the high-altitude alpine environment that would otherwise take an entire day to reach on foot.
It is also an experience that not everyone can have. The helicopter opens up a world that very few ever get to stand in — remote glaciers, summit ridges, landscapes above the clouds — in a matter of minutes.

Always a plan A, B and C

Weather comes first

Everything involving a helicopter demands flexibility. We never fly if the visibility is poor, the sky is overcast, or the wind is blowing. The mountain decides — and we plan accordingly.
Every heli-hiking safari is built with multiple alternatives ready for each day. Our guides are on the ground reading conditions in real time, and our network of local pilots means we can make fast decisions about when to fly and where. When the conditions are perfect, there is nothing like it. And when they are not, we have equally remarkable hiking routes waiting.
This is why the helicopter element weaves naturally into a week of varied hiking across different terrain and different countries — you get a rich alpine experience whatever the weather brings.

Switzerland and Italy — where true heli-hiking is possible

Where we operate

We can only do genuine heli-hiking — landing on summits and setting off on foot — in Switzerland and Italy. In France, regulations allow helicopter transport only: you can fly somewhere, but you cannot land in the same way to begin a hike. We are always honest about this distinction, because it matters to the experience.
Our expertise sits precisely where these three countries meet — a geography that gives us access to some of the most dramatic and varied alpine terrain in Europe, all within a single week.

Connecting regions without airports

The helicopter as a logistics tool

The helicopter is also a brilliant way to reduce travel time. If we want to combine two vastly different regions in Europe, it can connect them in minutes — landing in private areas directly, with no need for airports or long transfers. This opens up itinerary possibilities that simply would not be practical any other way.

How it works

Our planning ensures every trip is unique to you

You give us your dates, how many people are in your group and what your objectives are. We then get to work crafting your heli-hiking safari. Our guides are with you every day, working your itinerary around the unique and ever-changing Alpine microclimate, with alternative routes lined up for each day.
Our extensive network of local contacts and pilots allows us to identify the best windows to fly and the best areas to land. When the helicopter adds something truly special to your day, we use it. When the mountain suggests otherwise, we have something equally extraordinary waiting.
