Autumn in the Alps

It’s happened… a refreshing breeze finally arrived this week, announcing the start of Autumn in the Alps. While the days are still sunny and warm, that extra layer in the backpack is a must. The wind can surprise us and the sky can change mood very quickly in the Alpine microclimates.

Back down to earth

We love alpine hiking in Autumn the most. The contrast between the deep blue skies and the leaves changing colour is breath-taking. Autumn is the best season for mountain exercise in cooler conditions and enjoying a well-deserved hot chocolate or a warming glass of red wine in front of a fireplace in the evening. It is hard to describe that lovely tingly feeling that you get at the end of a day in the Alps during this season. Perhaps it is because, once again, nature reminds us how little control we really do have. Being out in it brings us invigoratingly back down to earth and able to distinguish the important things in life from the small things that bother us each day.

Watching the passion catch on

When you do what you love it is easy to pass on the passion. Too quickly we forget how wonderful it is to be outside in Autumn hiking, climbing, laughing, enjoying wonderful wines, cheese, fresh fruit and the smells and sounds of nature. We really do love what we do and when we see that passion for the mountains catch on it gives us a great feeling of satisfaction. We send home tired but, hopefully, energised guests ready to take on the challenges of everyday life.

So if you are in need of an adventure to remind you what it feels like to be alive again and a reminder not to sweat the small stuff, get in touch. We are ready and waiting to plan your next Alpine experience, whether it’s this Autumn or beyond.

Wishing you a great Autumn.

Warm Regards from the mountains,

Danielle
